CCSD21 appoints inaugural members of health center advisory board

Community Consolidated School District 21 on April 18 named the inaugural members of its school-based health center advisory board, which will be tasked with making recommendations and providing community support and feedback.

“Over the past several weeks, I’ve had the great opportunity to review a number of applications that came from within our parent community who were interested in serving on this advisory board,” Dr. Michael Connolly, superintendent of CCSD21, told the Board of Education ahead of its vote on the measure. “We had an overwhelming number of applications from parents within our district who are also healthcare professionals, and it was an incredibly tough call to match up what we needed with what looked to be some great skill sets.”

The inaugural members include several district administrators and local healthcare professionals:

• Kim Cline, assistant superintendent for support services and school safety
• Micheal DeBartolo, assistant superintendent for finance and operations/CSBO
• Olivia Aguado, CCSD21’s community health liaison
• Lauren Schmidt, the district’s McKinney-Vento liaison
• Bailey Hack, a certified school nurse in the Cooper strand of schools
• Erica Slack, nurse practitioner with Advocate Health
• Susan Pritzker, a community member and retired school nurse
• Maryam Diaz, a doctor of nursing practice and parent representative from the Holmes strand of schools
• Sunnah Kim, a pediatric nurse practitioner and parent representative from the London strand of schools
• Anna Grinberg, a clinical pharmacist and parent representative from the Cooper strand of schools
• Jennifer Tani, CEO of the Healthy Schools Campaign and an at-large parent representative
• Jenny Keller, a licensed clinical professional counselor and at-large parent representative
• Roy Eiermann, clinical director of OMNI Youth Services

The 3,000-square-foot school-based health center is set to occupy the first floor of the district’s Community Service Center and Administrative Office, and will initially serve the district’s students, teachers and staff.
